Collaboration for a Greener Future in the Northern Rivers
Byron Bay and the Northern Rivers of New South Wales are celebrated globally for their pristine coastlines, lush landscapes, and vibrant communities. It’s an area where natural beauty meets innovation, and we’re thrilled to share a sustainability initiative from our RapidClean Byron Coast member that highlights this harmony.
At RapidClean, our commitment to sustainability drives everything we do—from sourcing responsibly and streamlining manufacturing to championing eco-friendly products. This dedication was recently exemplified by Emily Moore, Sales Director of RapidClean Byron Coast, in her collaboration with the Ballina Byron Gateway Airport, Ballina Shire Council, and SC Johnson Professional. Together, they introduced Proline Wave Hand Soap Dispensers—a solution that enhances hygiene standards while making a meaningful impact on environmental conservation.
Turning Plastic Pollution Into Progress

Each Proline Wave dispenser is made from 16 reclaimed plastic bottles sourced from coastal areas, reflecting our commitment to protecting our environment. This sustainable approach tackles the growing issue of ocean pollution while reducing the need for virgin plastic production.
Beyond its environmental credentials, the dispenser reduces water usage during handwashing. Paired with the trusted Deb Azure foaming handwash, it offers an efficient, eco-friendly solution to hand hygiene—perfect for the thousands of passengers and tourists visiting the region each year.
Recognised as a Model for Sustainability
The success of this initiative has caught national attention. The SC Johnson Professional National Sales Manager visited the airport to commend its impact and sustainability benefits. They are now positioning this project as a benchmark for similar rollouts across Australia.
This recognition underscores Ballina Byron Gateway Airport’s forward-thinking leadership and alignment with community values, sustainability, and innovation.
A Testament to Resilience
This project holds special meaning for Emily and the RapidClean Byron Coast (Southern Cross Hygiene) team. “As a small, family-owned business serving the Northern Rivers for over 30 years, we’ve faced many challenges, including rebuilding from scratch after the devastating 2022 floods. Relocating to the Alstonville Industrial Estate and continuing to serve our community has been a true labour of love. Achievements like being named RapidClean Member of the Year – Third Place and receiving growth awards with supply partners wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of our customers and community.” – Emily Moore, Sales Director, RapidClean Byron Coast
A Shared Vision for the Future
This collaboration demonstrates the power of partnerships, between local businesses and government in driving meaningful change. It’s not just about sustainability—it’s about setting a new standard for how we care for our environment while supporting our economy.
